Dr. Scott Buhler is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained sports medicine expert specializing in shoulder joint replacement surgeries, arthroscopic knee, shoulder, and elbow surgeries, and ACL and complex ligamentous surgical repair of the knee, including the advanced BEAR^® Implant, as well as extra training in Mako^® Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology.

A native of Louisiana, Dr. Buhler was born and raised in Baton Rouge. He has always been committed to excellence in his practice in Metairie and this started with his medical training.

After graduating with the highest academic distinction from Louisiana State University with his Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences, Dr. Buhler went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine. He continued his education at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, working in one of the busiest trauma centers in the nation. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. This position gave him the opportunity to be the assistant to the lead physician for several of Houston's professional and collegiate sports teams.

Throughout his college and medical school training, Dr. Buhler served in many leadership positions. He brings these skills to Crescent City Orthopedics and guides his patients to the best possible treatments for their injuries using his extensive knowledge and training.

Dr. Buhler earned many awards during his medical training, including the Ethics in Medicine award from LSU and the UTHealth Houston Department of Orthopedic Surgery's Courage to Lead award.

Dr. Buhler is a diligent, professional leader and trusted physician for those dealing with sports injuries or fractures.

He lives in New Orleans with his wife and three children.
