Symptoms

• A popping or clicking sensation when moving the affected finger
• Stiffness in the affected finger that makes it difficult to bend or straighten
• Pain or tenderness at the base of the affected finger

Causes

• Overuse of the fingers or thumb
• Conditions that cause inflammation of the tendons, such as rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes
