Scoliosis

Symptoms

• Uneven shoulders or hips
• A visible curvature of the spine
• Back pain or discomfort

Causes

• Idiopathic scoliosis, which has no known cause and typically develops during adolescence
• Congenital scoliosis, which is present at birth and caused by abnormal spinal development
• Neuromuscular scoliosis, which is caused by underlying neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy
