Dr. Buhler was born and raised in Baton Rouge, where he attended Catholic High School. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from LSU where he held multiple leadership positions, serving as the president of the local pre-medical honor society.

Following college, Dr. Buhler earned his Medical Degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. While in medical school, Dr. Buhler continued to serve in leadership roles and was awarded the Class of 2007 Ethics in Medicine award, given each year to the medical student that represents professionalism and what it means to be a physician.

Dr. Buhler left the state of Louisiana for his orthopedic surgery residency, which was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He gained extensive experience in all areas of Orthopedic Surgery during his time training in the Texas Medical Center, working at one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. As a resident, he was awarded with the UT Houston Department of Orthopedic Surgery "Courage to Lead" Award, voted on by fellow residents as the resident that most exemplifies leadership, diligence, and professionalism.

Following residency, Dr. Buhler remained in Houston to complete his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and the Memorial Hermann Ironman Sports Medicine Institute. During this year of specialty training, he served as an assistant to the team physicians for the Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, University of Houston athletics, and various area high schools. His fellowship included extensive training in the treatment of knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip injuries with a special emphasis on arthroscopic surgery and ACL reconstruction. He has given presentations at national orthopedic meetings including the NFL Combine Physicians Society meeting as well as the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine meeting. Dr. Buhler resides in New Orleans with his wife and daughter and is excited to be a part of Crescent City Orthopedics in serving New Orleans and all surrounding areas.
